Here you will find lots of useful information for you and your child.
We are extremely excited about the opening of our new school and cannot wait to welcome its pupils. We are aiming to provide you with all of the information that you need; many of which is being developed as we speak, so please keep revisiting the website to keep up to date.
Whilst the school was originally scheduled to be completed by 1st September 2020, we are now having to plan for the school to open in two phases. This has been due to a number of reasons but, most recently, the implications of Covid-19. To limit disruption for children starting in Year 7, and above, we have secured an alternative building - Bader at the Bridge (the former Levett School). These pupils will start at the centre in September and will transition over to the new building when it is safe to do so. The remaining pupils will start in January 2021 so will remain in their current provision up until this time.
Given this delay, the simplest approach would have been to postpone the opening of the school until September 2021. However, we strongly believe this is too big a delay, and we have, therefore, worked hard to try and secure the earliest opening possible. We have appointed an incredible team of teachers and leaders who will be will be tasked with supporting you and your family during the transition process. This will include building those all-important relationships with your child before they start school.
You will notice that we have incorporated in more training days into our calendar than usual due us having lots of new staff coming together in a new school. This time will be used to make sure our staff are fully equipped with the best knowledge, skills and expertise to work with your child.
We are recommending a standard uniform for Bader Academy pupils that you can buy from any supermarket. The details are included on the attached link. We would like to work with pupils and families in the future to develop what the school uniform looks like together.
Although we do not have actual school menus available at the moment please see the attached for details of our lunch arrangements.
The Bader Academy school day will start with an 8:45-9:00 arrival time and will finish at 3:00. Please see the attached timetable to give you an idea of what a typical week at the school will look like.
We believe that the role of the family in supporting those who attend school, the school community itself and the wider world is vital. Please see the attached for how we intend to support and develop our relationship with families. We will also appoint a Family Support and Community Involvement leader who will drive this work.
