Welcome to March/April's Bader Academy Briefing!
What a wet and windy February we have had! Luckily, Wilmott Dixon aren’t afraid of a little water. They’ve continued to make great progress with the Bader build and are still on target for the school to be ready in October.
We’ve had a wonderful response to the adverts for the Head, Assistant Head and teachers at the school and have received over 100 applications! The calibre of the applications has been really high which is fantastic considering the school building isn’t yet complete. Assessment of the leadership and teaching applicants will take place over the next couple of weeks and recruitment of the learning support positions will take place in April. There’s still time to apply if you’re interested in a Teaching Assistant position. Just visit the TES website at www.nyresourcing.co.uk/bader-academy for full details on the posts and how to apply.
Time is rapidly running out to put forward your views on the school as the statutory consultation period draws to a close. If you can spare a few minutes please complete the short questionnaire included on the Bader website to tell us what you think of the school.
Wendy McCleave, Douglas Bader’s step-daughter and co-founder of the Sir Douglas Bader Foundation, has recently been in touch to say... “Bader Academy promises to be such a great place for youngsters with Communication and Interaction Difficulties. I know that Douglas would be proud and delighted to have his name associated with such a positive institution. It's exciting and such a lovely accolade that his name will live on in this way.” What wonderful feedback to have!
