Welcome to June’s Bader Academy Briefing!
Things are really starting to move at a fast pace now at the school with lots of progress being made in lots of different areas. These include:
- All senior leaders, teachers and teaching assistant posts have been a appointed to and recruitment has started for a Site Manager and Office Manager.
- The majority of the pupils in the first cohort have been identified and plans are being made to work with schools, parents/carers and young people to look at designing personalised transition plans.
- Policies, plans and procedures have been written for the school.
- A detailed Education Brief has been produced for the school which has received excellent feedback from the Department for Education.
School Vision, Values and Ethos
The Exec Head Designate has revisited the vision, values and ethos for the school. The aim has been updated to have a clearer focus on “enriching the lives of all those who attend and to be an activist for positive change for all its pupils, the school and the global community”. The 6 Change maker values and principles will support the academy to achieve its vision and will provide the bedrock for all its work.
Good progress is still being made on site despite covid-19 measures. The school won’t be completed in time for the beginning of the school term in September but arrangements have been made for pupils to remain in their current provision, where feasible, and an alternative building close by, the Levitt Centre, has been secured for Year 7+ pupils to limit disruption into secondary education.
More photos, including access to the virtual tour, are available on the Bader Academy website. In general, lots more information on the school is being added on a regular basis so why not take a look at our gallery.
