Family Letter - 23/09/2022

Dear Families,

What a busy two weeks we have had! There has been so much happening and we cannot wait to share everything we have been doing with you.

I cannot believe that we are already nearly half way through our first half term and all pupils are happily settling into the new school year.

You should have received your child’s class base curriculum overview, which will give you more details about what your child is learning this half term. It is wonderful to see the school community focusing on our change maker principle of Bravery. We couldn’t be prouder of all of our amazing young people.

We cannot wait to celebrate all pupils’ achievements and learning in our ‘Who are we?’ exhibition in the coming weeks. We hope that you will be able to join us!

Macmillan Coffee Event!

Next week, we will be supporting Macmillan Cancer Support and raising money by hosting our coffee morning. Due to swimming commitments and to ensure that all can participate, this will be held on the afternoon of Thursday 29th September, starting at 1:30pm. We do hope that as many of you as possible are able to join us for this special event. We would really welcome any donations of cakes, biscuits or pastries into school. If you are donating goods to be sold, please send these into school no later that Wednesday 28th September.

To make sure that we are able to support any dietary requirements, could we please ask that if items are homemade, a list of ingredients is also supplied. We thank you in advance and look forward to welcoming as many families into school as possible. If you are attending this event and wish to collect your child from school, rather than them travelling home on transport, please ensure you inform transport directly.

Photo Permissions and Social Media

As we continue to grow as a school, we have had a few enquires and discussions with parents and wider stakeholders, around the use of social media to promote and celebrate learning, events and pupil successes within school. We know that some families would welcome this and see an opportunity to further develop the work of school and share this with a wider population. Family feedback indicates that we know that families appreciate Class Dojo and use of social media would not replace this.

We would like you to have your say and let us know your thoughts. This will then support in any decision-making process within school. We are also using this opportunity to ask that permissions are given, or otherwise, for this school year, by completing the Microsoft form. Please note this is important to ensure that school only uses your child’s image in an appropriate manner. Details of the form can be obtained on ClassDojo or from the office.

Enrichment / Curriculum Activities

We have started some of this year’s enrichment and curriculum activities already, which is great to see. We are so proud of the amazing representation of Bader our pupils are demonstarting within the community. We have started swimming lessons in some year groups, weekly visits to Austerfield and a group of pupils have started work towards their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award.
