Warren Carratt –Chief Executive Officer, Nexus MAT

Warren is the Chief Executive Officer of Nexus Multi Academy Trust, which provides education to children across the South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire regions. A "first generation” CEO, Warren was recruited to 2016. Warren has not become a CEO through the Headteacher route, instead having a background in local government and the NHS. Warren is a sitting Magistrate on the South Yorkshire bench, and is also an independent member of the South Yorkshire Police & Crime Panel, the statutory body which holds the Police & Crime Commissioner to account.

Claire Garbutt – Chair, Bader Academy Council

Claire has worked in education for almost 20 years, with 14 years of those being in leadership, including as SENDCo, Headteacher and Executive Headteacher. Claire is passionate about making a difference to the lives of children and young people and in supporting children with additional needs and their families.

Claire currently works as Early Career Strategic Lead for a teaching school partnership, having the strategic oversight and leadership of teacher training and early career development programmes.

Jacky Tattershall – Vice Chair, Bader Academy Council

Jacky has worked in the field of Special Needs and Disability for a number of years and has a wealth of experience which led to her being the Headteacher at Kelford School in Rotherham.  In 2020 Jacky joined the Nexus Trust Central Team as Assistant CEO, Quality & School Improvement, where she and her team work with all the Nexus schools to raise the quality of education for all pupils in the Nexus Trust.

Kirsty Binks – Headteacher 

Hello, my name is Kirsty Binks and I am the Headteacher at Bader Academy.

I am proud to share that I have spent my working life serving families and communities of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

I have worked in schools for young people with additional needs for many years, experiencing lots of different needs and working with families to ensure they have the best possible support. I am a Specialist Leader in Education for SEND and strive to ensure all pupils have the best possible experience whilst at school.

My passion is helping young people to communicate their wishes and feelings, putting their needs at the heart of everything we do, including working with families to support each individual pupil alongside an amazing staff team. I couldn’t be prouder of the community we serve.

Scott Spence-Hill – Parent Governor 

I work for Humberside Fire & Rescue Service as the Fire Control Manager.

During my career I have developed skills in Leadership & Management; Data Management & Information Governance; Training & Development; Project Management & Procurement and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.

My son attends Bader Academy. I have 5 years’ experience as a Governor with a Secondary School in another Local Authority.

Lynn Olsen – Staff Governor (Non-Teaching)  

My name is Lynn Olsen and I am a staff governor with my role at Bader Academy being a HLTA (higher level teaching assistant).

Having moved from a background of mainstream education to an environment that promotes the needs of individuals, where needs are met on an individualised basis I love being part of the Bader family.

I find myself extremely lucky to have been on the journey from day one of opening and to see the progress made so far, I am looking forward to what lies ahead….

Abigail Hirst – Staff Governor (Teaching)  

Hi!  My name is Abi and I am a teacher governor here at Bader. I am in my seventh year of teaching and after four years of working in mainstream settings, I joined the Bader team on its very first day. I have a degree in Education and Special Needs and Inclusion and supporting young people with additional needs is a huge passion of mine.

I firmly believe that young people’s voices should be heard, as well as staff and parents alike, in order to ensure we can all work together with the young people at the centre of everything we do.

Danielle Badman-Outram

Danielle is a parent governor at Bader Academy and has a son who attends the school. As an NHS nurse, she brings valuable experience in caring for others and supporting individuals with a wide range of needs.

Passionate about ensuring families feel listened to and supported, Danielle became a parent governor to help represent the views and experiences of parents, particularly those raising children with additional needs. She is committed to helping the Academy provide the best possible environment for all pupils and families.

Danielle is proud to be part of the Bader Academy community and looks forward to contributing positively to its continued growth and success.
