Transport to and from Bader Academy is the responsibility of the relevant local authority under their Home to School Transport Policy, and is currently provided in the form of shared taxis/mini coaches. The initial process is usually considered as part of the admissions consultation process to Bader Academy, and any queries regarding eligibility and timescales should be directed to your local authority SEN officer.
Once transport is approved by the relevant local authority, you will be provided a collection time. Pupils should be ready and waiting for collection; in line with their policies, you must have a responsible person to supervise your child to and from the vehicle each day.
For the cases of appointments or special circumstances which mean that your child will not need transportation for either the school to home journey, or from home to school, then the local transport team should be advised in advance.
In the event that your child is ill, in addition to advising the school office by 8.30am, the local transport team should also be advised that transport is not required.
In the event that your child becomes sick at school and requires collection, it is your responsibility to arrange this; unfortunately, children who have been ill are generally not permitted to travel on shared transportation to minimise the transmission of illness.
